How often can you purchase a wine with the name Lafite-Rothschild on the bottle for under $10? Not often unless you take a trip down to South America and visit their vineyards in Chile. It's here that we found the two sibling estates of Las Huertas and Los Vascos. One of the oldest vineyards in Chile, Los Vascos traces its roots to approximately 1750 as the original vineyard of Miguel Echenique. In the 1980's the vineyards were purchased by the Lafite-Rothschild family and both Las Huertas and Los Vascos quickly became two of the top selling wines from South America. A dead ringer for White Bordeaux with delicate notes of white flowers and citrus, you will immediately see why The Wine Spectator voted this a "Best Value" and placed it in the Top 10 for White Wines in 2020, behind huge names like Kistler, Joel Gott, and Hartford Court. "The 2021 Sauvignon Blanc from Colchagua is a 60/40 blend of grapes from Peralillo and Paredones, respectively. Pale yellow in the glass. The intense nose offers notes of rue, mint and hints of lemon and grapefruit. In the mouth, it’s moderately fatty with integrated, expressive, malic freshness and a slightly watery layer of salinity.
