Gnarly Head 1924 Double Black is crafted using grapes from select vineyards throughout Northern California, specifically the Lodi region, an area long known amongst California winemakers as the “Zin-famous” appellation. Lodi’s climate is ideal for growing concentrated, full-flavored grapes – well-draining sandy soil, warm summer afternoons and cooling nighttime breezes from the Pacific Ocean.
"This wine is dark in color, with just a thin red rim. It smells of ripe blackberries, grilled beef and clove, with flavors as dense as the color. For all its color and flavor intensity and fine-grained tannins, however, it feels smooth and velvety on the tongue and is hard to resist, especially at such a reasonable price."
